BRINGING A MESSAGE OF HOPE TO ALL IN NEED
OUR STORY
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our journey. While it’s often said that suffering has a purpose, it’s a truth that can be hard to grasp in the face of overwhelming loss. On June 5, 2013, my daughter Kaylie passed suddenly from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death from Epilepsy). She was an English teacher at Martin County West High School in Sherburn, Minnesota, and her death left a profound void in the lives of her students and everyone who knew her. Just when I thought the pain could not be deeper, on March 7, 2014, my son Tyler was tragically killed in a car accident in our small town of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, along with three other young men. These losses were nothing short of devastating, not only for me but for everyone around us.
Hardships come in many forms—some large, some small—and no one is immune to the pain they bring. The question becomes: how do we face adversity? How do we transform our deepest wounds into sources of hope and strength? While we cannot always control our circumstances, we do have the power to choose how we respond.
My mission, fueled by the love and memories of Kaylie and Tyler, is to help others find hope in their pain. In my own journey, I have discovered that healing begins with the decision to rise above the suffering and turn setbacks into opportunities for growth and transformation. Wherever you are, whatever you are facing, I believe I can help guide you toward healing, hope, and a life that honors both your struggles and your triumphs.
More about my story and my journey to find healing can be found in the Morning God Boost book and journal.
BE KIND. GIVE MORE. STAY HUMBLE.
The Story Behind the Slogan
On the one year anniversary of Kaylie’s passing, our family decided to host a 5K event in her memory to raise money for epilepsy and scholarships for the seniors at Martin County West, the school where she taught for three years.
“It’s not just a slogan but a way of life!”
Be Kind. Give More. Stay Humble.
This motto was created by Tyler Hadley, using the initials of his sister, Kaylie Marie Hogue, (K.M.H.)who passed suddenly from an epileptic seizure. Tyler hoped it would inspire everyone to Be Kind to one another, Give More to God, and Stay Humble, remembering that all we have comes from the Lord. Nine months after Kaylie died, Tyler, along with three other boys, tragically passed away in a car accident. Today, their family
invites you to embrace these words as a way of life.
