MEET DEB HADLEY

Inspirational Speaker, Author, and Mom

Hello!

My name is Deb Hadley and I am honored that you want to know more about me. On a personal note, I live in beautiful Alexandria, Minnesota with my husband Scott and our dog Deuce. We have a blended family of his, hers, and ours. Kaylie is my daughter from my first marriage, Josh and Jessica are Scott’s children from his first marriage, and Tyler is our son together.

Life has not always been easy for us, but we have a beautiful blended family. Josh is married to Miranda and they have a son named Kyler (named after Kaylie and Tyler). Jessica is married to Jacob and they have four boys - Connor, the twins -Grant, Riley, and Patrick Ty. I can’t even begin to explain how blessed I am to have my step-children and their families. They keep me going every day! Kaylie took up residency in Heaven on June 5, 2013, and Tyler joined her just 9 months and two days later on March 7, 2014. Kaylie and Tyler may be gone physically from this world, but as a family, we honor their memory and legacy every single day of our lives. We know they are alive and well and that one day we will meet them again in Heaven. We also realize that life is short and we have to make the most of it while we are still here on this earth.

My whole life has changed since the kids have passed away. I am currently the Bereavement Manager for Knute Nelson Hospice, and I help people who have lost a loved one to be able to find joy in a world when so much is gone. I love talking about my faith and helping people find healing in our Lord. I graduated from the National Speakers Academy so I would have the tools to bring my message to the world - a message of hope. I am fortunate to be able to speak to faith-based organizations, as well as schools and other secular businesses. I can tailor my message to meet the needs of my audience, but I really am on fire when I can talk about how the Lord picked me up out of the darkness and brought me into the light. For that, I am forever grateful!

I long for Heaven every day and I cannot wait to see my kids again. However, I know the Lord has work for me to do on this earth, and I will spread His love to the very best of my ability! Even when I am speaking to a secular audience, I know that I am helping God’s children find HOPE in their world!

P.S. I also know that Kaylie and Tyler are pretty proud of their mom!

Be Kind. Give More. Stay Humble., shine God’s love and light on all you meet, and God Bless you richly!

OUR STORY

Our Mission

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our story. It has been said that there is a purpose to all suffering, and although that may be hard to understand, I believe it to be true. On June 5, 2013, my daughter Kaylie, passed suddenly of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death from Epilepsy). It was sudden and it was very unexpected. She was an English teacher at Martin County West High School in Sherburn, Minnesota. I experienced firsthand what it feels like to have a tragic loss in life, and I also saw the agony her students experience by her sudden death. Just when I thought things could not get worse, the unthinkable happened on March 7, 2014, when my son Tyler, was tragically killed in a car accident in our small town of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, along with 3 other local boys. As I felt the crushing blows of this loss, I also saw the way it affected everyone around me.

Hardships will happen, some large, some small - no one is exempt from suffering. How do we handle the setbacks in life? How do we turn those setbacks into opportunities to change the world? Often we cannot control our circumstances, but we can control how we will react to those circumstances. My mission, along with the love and support from Kaylie and Tyler, is to help others who are hurting to find hope. I find my greatest hope in the Lord. Wherever you are, whatever you are looking for, I believe I can help you find it.

More about my story and my journey to find healing can be found in the Morning God Boost book and journal.

BE KIND. GIVE MORE. STAY HUMBLE.

The Story Behind the Slogan

On the one year anniversary of Kaylie’s passing, our family decided to host a 5K event in her memory to raise money for epilepsy and scholarships for the seniors at Martin County West, the school where she taught for three years.

Tyler came up with the slogan, Be Kind. Give More. Stay Humble.,  to honor his sister’s legacy.  K.M.H (Kaylie Marie Hogue) are Kaylie’s initials, and Tyler knew she would encourage us all to live our lives in this manner.  Our family strives to live this way, and encourage others to do the same, so we can live the best life we can and together change the world.

The Morning God Boost Journal

I designed the Morning God Boost Journal to not only be a place for you to record your thoughts, but to also help you to be more intentional in your prayer life. Each day is centered around the acronym, P.R.A.Y., and each letter of the word PRAY will help you focus on a different aspect of prayer.

The Morning God Boost Video

The Lord asks us all to be his disciples and spread the good news of the Lord. The Morning God Boost video is a public way for me to share my love of the Lord with others.

KT HUMBLE HEARTS FOUNDATION

My promise is that I continue Tyler and Kaylie's legacy of love to make life better because God gave them to me.

The KT Humble Hearts Foundation (KTHH) is a 501c3 non profit organization created in memory of Kaylie and Tyler with a mission to support the fight against epilepsy, help those who are grieving, scholarship funding for higher education, resources to help people find the Lord, support for community fellowship events, and outreach to helps others.

Kaylie and Tyler had a great capacity to love. They shared a fierce love with not only their family and friends, but with many who came in contact with them on a daily basis. The KT Humble Hearts Foundation promises to simply share that love and the love of God with others.
